Description

Sealers protect surfaces by establishing a barrier to try to resist chemicals, stains, and rough contact.

Surfaces need to be prepared before a sealer can be applied. On new surfaces, they just need to be cleaned, and then instructions followed on laying sealer. On older surfaces, it may be necessary to strip old sealer off, to clean well, as a new sealer just creates a clear layer embodying all old tarnished seal and stains. Look at our blog on stripping and sealing

What is 3D-Gloss?

3D-GLOSS is a super-glossy sealer finish for vinyl, timber, and stone floors. It is designed with a fast cure rate for use in supermarkets
where it buffs up easily under UHS buffing machines to provide a crystal-clear, dazzling gloss.

Key Benefits

  • Floors will sparkle when sealed with 3D-GLOSS.
  • 3D-GLOSS is non-slip.
  • Stays shiny for longer because of its high scratch repair
  • Responds to both gas and electric buffing machines.
  • Excellent for supermarkets and other busy floors.

How Does It Work?

3D-GLOSS dries to form a colourless, tough modified acrylic, metal cross-linked film which has an outstanding gloss level and very high
degree of scratch repair when burnished. Floors coated with 3D-GLOSS achieve peak gloss after only one or two buffs and they retain their sparkle through the day because of the high abrasion resistance of the new polymer. 3D-GLOSS also offers the possibility of being buffed by gas or electric buffers due to its high burnish response. 3D-GLOSS is colourless, non-slip and mark resistant.

For Use On…

3D-GLOSS should be used on vinyl tiles, sealed timber, sealed terrazzo, sealed marble, terracotta, slate, linoleum, and brick floors.

Application
- Remove adhesive, build-up sealer or wax, and other soilage. New floors should always be stripped prior to sealing. Whilst a new floor looks clean, it is covered in a protective film added at the time of manufacture. New floor sealer will not adhere to this film, so it must be stripped.
- Flood-rinse floor to remove the stripper and dirt. The floor must be well covered in clean water. Mop up or wet-vac and allow to dry. If floor is vinyl, burnish floor then fringe mop to remove dust. Do not burnish bare terrazzo or stone floors.
- Apply basecoat sealer using a fringe mop or bucket mop. On vinyl tile floors that take heavy traffic, 2 coats are recommended. On terrazzo, marble, and polished concrete, one coat of FIRST BASE must be applied to seal the floor. Check that the basecoat/s are tack-free and dry before applying 2 or 3 coats of 3DGLOSS, making a total of 4 coats.
- After 2 to 7 days, apply 2 more coats of 3D-GLOSS. This film of 6 coats will provide a sound foundation for protecting the flooring and will give an excellent depth of shine.

- For the first week, soft buffing pads (such as champagne) must be used. After this period, Jackeroo Lite or other UHS pads can then be used for burnishing.
- Maintain floor by cleaning with AUTOSCRUB then dry buffing or spray buffing. Softer pads with no natural hair fibres are preferred.
- Re-coat heavy traffic areas when required. This will ensure a shiny, beautiful, and long-wearing coating.
- Worn films may be scrubbed off using FLORPREP at 1:20 with blue pads and may then be recoated with 3DGLOSS after buffing and sweeping.
- Do not apply any sealer to a very cold floor (9ºC or less). If application is unavoidable in very cold or humid weather, lay very thin coats one hour apart.
